Nsikan Essien Benson (born 28 January) is a Nigerian Afro pop/soul/Highlife singer and songwriter. She sings in both English and Efik/Annang and a little bit of other African languages. Born into a family of five to a Renowned Reverend in Akwa Ibom State- Annang origin and a granddaughter of the Ekukinam prestigious family in Essien Udim LGA. She has Nigerian parents. She was raised in Lagos, Akwa Ibom,has a 7year Banking experience in 2 major banks in Nigeria. Her infectious personality, focused and easygoing attitude to life plays a great role in keeping her close to her dreams.She tresses her musical roots to her traditional Annang sounds citing the likes of ‘Uko Akpan’ as her primary musical root and has been greatly been inspired by messages of Lucky Dube, Sounds of Youssou N'Dour while following footsteps of "Whitney Hoston, Jillscot ,Army winehouse, Lauryn Hill" as key influences in her own pursuit of her musical dreams Her lyrics reflects and stresses much of her history and the issues of love and family life ,sadness, poverty and ill-treatment and are often loaded with inspirational, moral and biblical messages and references, with some music commentators comparing her to..Great musicians of our time..Her new single touches a lot of soulful heartbreaking stories,"Tumi Kama" if I let you go' “365days’ ..a wait for a long lost lover, “If God Be for me” etc .
